ANANTAPUR: One more girl among those hospitalised after food poisoning on Tuesday died in the general hospital here on Wednesday taking the toll to two. The condition of two more persons was also stated to be critical. A girl, Nageshwari (1) succumbed in the hospital on Wednesday. Eight persons of a family of V.Kothakota village in Vidapanakal mandal in the district were hospitalised on Tuesday due to food poisoning and one girl succumbed in the hospital in the evening. The condition of family head Mallanna (45) and his wife Ratnamma (40) was stated to be still critical.
Meanwhile, the police investigating into the incident of food poisoning is learnt to have found that the family had kept home-made rice ‘rawa’ along with a pesticide bottle in the house of victims. It is being suspected that the pesticide could have poisoned the ‘rawa’. The breakfast sample prepared with the ‘rawa’ was also sent for chemical examination.
