Deadline set for inclusion and deletion of names

The final voter list will be published on January 11, says Virudhunagar Collector

VIRUDHUNAGAR: The last date for inclusion/deletion of names and incorporating corrections in draft electoral list is December 8.
In a statement, the Collector, V. Chandrasekaran, said that all those persons who would complete 18 years of age as on January 1, 2008 could include their names by submitting filled-in Form 6 along with Form 001A.
People should use Form 7 for deletion of names and Form 8 for carrying out corrections in the details mentioned in the voter list. For change of address within the same Assembly constituency they should use Form 8A, he said.
The filled-in applications should be given to the polling centres and taluk offices. Bulk applications would not be accepted. The received applications would be scrutinised by December 24 and the supplementary list released on January 4. The final voter list would be published on January 11, 2008, the Collector said.
A total of 9,98,801 voters – 4,88,938 men and 5,09,863 women – were in the draft roll, he said.
