BELLARY: M.P. Prakash, former Deputy Chief Minister, has reiterated that the future course of action will be finalised at the meeting of “like-minded” people in Bangalore on December 12. Responding to questions by presspersons here on Wednesday, he said that the four options before him and his supporters would be discussed at the meeting. “There all participants are free to express their opinions and also free to take their own decisions,” he said. Mr. Prakash took exception to the manner in which Gulagi Nagaraj was replaced as president of the district unit of Janata Dal (S) and also the manner in which H. Hanumanthappa assumed charge of the post. “I am not opposed to appointment of a new president. But I am against the manner in which it was done. H.D. Kumaraswamy wants to talk to me in an attempt to patch up the differences while the State party president replaces Gulagi Nagaraj, merely because he is moving closely with me, and that too at a time when the party has not yet split,” he said. Review of decisionUnder the changed circumstances, Mr. Prakash hinted that he might alter his stand on retirement from electoral politics. “All are ready for elections. Under the changed circumstances, I might have to change my stand based on the outcome of the meeting of like-minded leaders,” he declared.
