TDP demands purchase of cotton
Staff Reporter
ADILABAD: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Wednesday demanded purchase of cotton through Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) to control the falling price of the produce at Adilabad. The party wanted CCI to start purchase immediately at Adilabad market.
TDP member of Legislative Council Pogaku Yadagiri at a press conference criticised the Government for its failure to accord even minimum price for cotton.
He pointed out that during the TDP rule farmers from Maharashtra sold their produce at Adilabad because of higher price. “Now, the process has reversed because of better rate in Maharashtra,” he added.
TDP legal cell district president M. Ramana Reddy and Telugu Rythu district president B. Goverdhan Reddy were also present.
