He is involved in 15 cases, including the killing of Maktal MLA C. Narsi Reddy Mahabubnagar: Top CPI (Maoist) platoon commander Mucherla Ramudu surrendered before OSD (Officer on Special Duty) Rajesh Kumar, here on Wednesday. Macherla Ramudu alias Matti Ramudu alias Bhaskar, 25, who belongs to Kollapoor mandal in the district carries a reward of Rs. 20,000. He is involved in 15 cases, including the killing of Maktal MLA C. Narsi Reddy, murder of Charakonda Pandaiah and G. Veeraiah at Vatvarlapally village. He was also involved in the killing of Masaiah at Inole village in the district, according to the police. He was involved in other offences including attack on Amrabad police station, attack on armed out post at Mannanoor etc. Ramudu, who was produced before the mediapersons press persons informed that he came in contact of Avutolla Murali Commander of Pangal dalam (who died in an encounter) and joined the dalam in the year 2003. He went to Karnataka last year (2006) and moved with district committees covering Mangalore and Udipi districts. He said that due to continuous counselling of parents and relatives he surrendered to the police. OSD Rajesh Kumar appealed to other underground Maoists to surrender and lead a peaceful life. He assured them of providing all possible rehabilitation to the surrendered Maoists. Kollapoor Sub Inspector Venkateshwarulu and others were also present.
