An honour to be with Team India, says ‘doc’

Staff Reporter

HYDEARABAD: Former Hyderabad Ranji captain M.V.Sridhar says to be named media manager of the Indian team on its forthcoming tour to Australia as an honour and a rare privilege.

Speaking to The Hindu, Sridhar, popularly known as ‘Doc’ in cricketing circles, said that it was good that the BCCI decided to have a separate media manager and that he would try his best to live up to the expectations.

“Considering that the Australian tour is one of the most demanding assignments, I think I have a definite task cut out. Essentially, I hope to be a bridge between the players and the media,” he said.

“I am grateful to N. Shivlal Yadav (HCA secretary) and others who are responsible for me getting this job,” he added.

“It is a great feeling to be associated with the national team in any capacity,” says Sridhar, for whom this is the first time he getting a ‘national’ role in the BCCI scheme of things.
