What they say

M. Rama Murthy

M. Rama Murthy, founder of Dolphin Nature Conservation Society:

“Parks can be developed and maintained by Residents Welfare Association s (RWA s) by taking simple measures for their self-sustenance. The construction of one or two pan shops at one end of the park, raising of medicinal plants can generate adequate revenue and take care of the recurring expenditure for maintenance of the parks. Walking tracks should be developed for the benefit of local residents. When local residents fail to take interest in the upkeep of the parks, anti-social elements would use them to indulge in their activities. Lack of maintenance can also result in children getting injured as a result of damaged play equipment.”
