Health centres

This is in response to the feature on urban health centres published in these columns on November 22, and about how voluntary organisations have not been able to manage the centres. We can’t expect all NGOs or voluntary organisations to have sufficient funds or reserves to fund a part of this programme. So, I suggest that voluntary organisations with experience in community mobilisation and medical care be selected for implementing the project. They should be selected on merits and commitment and not on financial position.
