The TDLP delegation led by E. He said Dr. Reddy gave a patient hearing and promised that the sugar factories would be asked to pay Rs. 1,150.

The delegation comprising C. Muthyam Reddy, president, Telugu Rythu, Padala Aruna, another TDLP secretary, two MLCs, Revanth Reddy and Sudhakar submitted a memorandum highlighting the fall in prices of various crops and sought government’s intervention.

They brought to Dr. Reddy’s notice that though the support price for cotton was Rs. 2,050, price at which cotton was being purchased ranged between Rs. 1,200 and Rs. 1,600 and that the CCI had purchased just two per cent of stocks.
