3 killed in accident

TIRUCHI: Three persons were killed, and five others injured, when a van collided with a lorry at Nedungur on the Tiruchi-Chennai national highway near here on Wednesday.

The dead and the injured were occupants of the van. Police sources said the Madurai-bound lorry from Chennai overtook a stationary tipper lorry and collided with the van that was on its way to Chennai.

The deceased were identified as J. Mani (35), the driver, S. Saravana Sukanthan (33) and S. Maharajan (27). — Staff Reporter
