‘Oh Lovve Jeevana Sakshatkara’ will be staged on Sunday BANGALORE: Life in the city is fast and we have to change our lifestyle accordingly. This is what you hear quite often. This is also what Yeshwant Sirdeshpande’s new play is all about. “Oh Lovve Jeevana Sakshatkara” brings out humour in changing lifestyles and the adjustments a new couple have to make, says Mr. Sirdeshpande, who has successfully staged three comedies. His latest will be staged on Sunday as part of the two-day MTR Ranga Sambrama programme organised by Guru Samste of Hubli. On Saturday, the popular “All the Best” will be staged. “Oh Lovve Jeevana Sakshatkara” is about the life of a couple from different castes who tie the knot against their parents’ wishes. The third actor in the play is Mr. Sirdeshpande himself, who is the sutradhar, turning up often during the play to connect the couple’s life with the audience. He comes to bridge the time gaps such as marriage of the couple and giving birth to a child. This is how the sutradhar explains about the “play home” and “day care” centres. “The child has become clever. He knows that he can get mother’s love at the play home by paying Rs. 1,500. Paying an addition of Rs. 1,000 will teach him education and discipline. The parents are not at fault they are leading a fast-paced life,” he says in a typical North Karnataka dialect. Raghavendra Geddemane and Rashmi play the young couple. The others in the play, an adaptation of the Marathi “Hum To Tere Ashiq Hai”, are Khader Pasha and Dharma Kadur.
