Kamukara award for Radhakrishnan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Noted music director M.G. Radhakrishnan will receive the 11th Kamukara Award instituted by Kamukara Foundation on Saturday. The award is given in honour of Mr. Radhakrishnan’s holistic contribution in the field of music. The award includes a cash prize of Rs.25,000, a citation and a statuette designed by artist Bhattathiri.

Governor R.L. Bhatia will be the chief guest on the occasion. Playback singer K.S. Chitra, who completes 25 years in playback singing, will be honoured during the function.

The award ceremony will be followed by a ganamela lead by singers Chitra, Vidhu Prathap, Manjeri, Kavalam Sreekumar, G. Sreeram, Aparna, Anoop Sankar and Radhika.
