Three arrested in raid

SIRSI: On a tip-off, Sirsi police raided a house in Nehru Nagar here on Wednesday night and confiscated illegal liquor, bottles, sealing machine and others which amounted to Rs. 2.4 lakh. The police arrested the three persons who were allegedly involved. The arrested are Guddadamane Raju Laxman Naik, Nagesh Laxmana Naik and Manju Nagavva Matri. Two cars used for the purpose were also taken into possession by the police.

The accused were said to be involved in selling illegal liquor in bottles on which they stuck labels of reputed companies. and sealing here at the residence, the police sources added.

CPI Karunakar Shetty led the raid. A case has been registered.
