Fundamentalists should be isolated: Ashok ‘Popularise secular ideology’ BANGALORE: Expressing concern over the organised efforts by divisive forces to disturb communal harmony, a State-level convention of the Karnataka Komu Souharda Vedike on Thursday resolved to ensure that Karnataka did not turn into another Gujarat and Bababudangiri did not become a “second Ayodhya.” The convention, which was held in Bangalore, resolved to strengthen all the secular forces to put up a combined fight against any effort to damage the State’s secular fabric. Addressing the convention, vedike State secretary K.L. Ashok stressed the need for isolating the Sangh Parivar and other fundamentalists. At the same time, the progressive, socialist and secular ideology should be popularised, he said. The convention, which was attended by about 2,500 delegates, discussed the ways and means of strengthening the struggle against communalism. It also decided to take the fight against fundamentalism to grassroots level by strengthening its organisational network in villages.
