Malayali woman scales Kibo summit

Staff Reporter

Thrissur: A 44-year-old Malayali woman claimed to have scaled the Kibo summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in north-eastern Tanzania.

Padmaja Manohar, an employee with Zurich International Life in Kuwait, said here on Thursday that she was part of a 31-member group that scaled the Kibo summit in an expedition that began on October 31. The group scaled the summit in six days. Kibo is one of the three volcanic cones of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest freestanding mountain rise in the world.
