Talk on travel narratives on India
NEW DELHI: The outreach programme of the Centre for Jawaharlal Nehru Studies at Jamia Millia Islamia here organised a talk on Thursday by Michael Fisher, Danforth Professor of History at Oberlin College in the United States on “Early European travel narratives about Mughal India: Across the three seas”.
Prof. Fisher used maps, lithographs and prints to make a presentation about European travellers who were largely either monks or merchants and travelled extensively throughout the Indian subcontinent from the 16th to 18th Centuries.
