New Delhi: Controversial tantrik Chandraswami was on Thursday allowed by a court here to go abroad for a period of one month. The tantrik, charged by the CBI with violating Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) rules, was asked to deposit Rs 50 lakh, in the shape of bonds and FDRs, as security.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjeev Jain granted permission to Chandraswami to go abroad from December 20 to January 20, 2008, and ordered him to furnish a personal bond of Rs 20 lakh and a surety of the same amount. It also asked him to furnish a FDR of Rs 10 lakh.
