Musicians will work for the progress of Carnatic style Exhibition on Chintalapalli heritage to be inaugurated BANGALORE: Chintalapalli Parampara Trust, an organisation formed for preservation and continuance the Chintalapalli music parampara, is being inaugurated on Saturday. Managing trustee of the trust Srikantham Nagendra Shastry said here that Chintalapalli, a tiny hamlet in Gauribidanur taluk, had produced many musicians in the past 800 years. The musicians of this parampara were honoured by many erstwhile rulers of Karnataka. Valuable documentsExhibiting the documents given by the Bahmani rulers of the 16th Century in appreciation of Thimmanna, a Chintalapalli musician, Mr. Shastry said it was the aspiration of the today’s musicians of Chintalapalli to work for the progress of Carnatic music through the foundation, he said. Mr. Shastry said to mark the inauguration of the trust, a two-day programme has been organised from Saturday. The trust would be inaugurated by R. Satyanarayana. Indrakshi Deve Ammanni, daughter of erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore Jayachamaraj Wadiyar, would inaugurate an exhibition on Chintalapalli heritage. H.N. Ananth Kumar, MP, would launch a website, and compact discs of Carnatic music would be released. “There will be seminars on Sunday, and 13 musicians will be felicitated,” Mr. Shastry added.
