MSR misses the bus
Things do not seem to go on the expected lines for the veteran Congress leader M. Satyanarayana Rao. His wish to handle a gubernatorial assignment remains unfulfilled and instead of the ‘Raj Bhavan’, his destination for the next five years would be the ‘Bus Bhavan’, after he was nominated as Chairman of the APSRTC.
The brief ceremony of taking charge was not without an unsavoury incident. As he got up to greet someone in the room, he was not aware that someone had pulled the chair away. The senior Congress leader landed on his back when he sat down believing that the chair was in its place. If this left Mr. Rao fuming, authorities flummoxed over his assertions that he would visit bus stations, ensure punctuality in bus operations etc. Knowing the penchant of the senior leader to become expansive whenever a journalist prods him for some comment, APSRTC would certainly be in news in future. It remains to be seen whether, Mr. Rao restrain himself from rubbing the RTC authorities on the wrong side.
