Scientific water cess collection methods mooted

KARIMNAGAR: Command area development commissioner and principal secretary S. P. Thakkar stressed on the need for the proper collection of water cess from the farmers of the command areas of various irrigation projects.
Participating at the regional conference of Telangana revenue, agriculture, irrigation and planning board officials here on Thursday, Mr. Thakkar informed the officials concerned to adopt scientific method for the collection of water cess from the farmers of command areas.
He said that the Maharashtra State had increased its water cess collection by about 60 per cent by adopting scientific techniques.
