Panel to look into mid-day meals
NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi-appointed Monitoring Committee to look into the mid-day meal scheme conducted a surprise check at schools in Ashok Vihar here on Thursday.
It discovered that though the mid-meals being provided were adequate in quality as well as quality, there was a discrepancy in the quantity of subsidised wheat provided by the Food Corporation of India. Instead of the allocated 1,485 quintals, only 8,00 were found at the Maitri Research and Development Foundation at Poothkalan.
