Rs 39 lakh collected as Flag Day fund

ERODE: Erode district’s contribution to the Flag Day fund has always exceeded expectations.
Target
Last year Rs 39.41 lakh was collected as the Flag Day fund in the district, as against the target of Rs 37.40 lakh.
This year too the target was fixed at Rs 39.60 lakh.
Certainly, the target would be surpassed, said District Revenue Officer S. Nagarajan on Friday in Erode.
He was inaugurating the Flag Day rally.
It started at Paneerselvam Park. NCC cadets of various schools and colleges participated in the rally.
Col. R. Ravindran led the rally. Assistant Director, Ex-servicemen Welfare Board, Ms Radha explained about the importance of the Flag Day donations.
