Special camps to give house site pattas

Krishnagiri: The district administration has prepared an action plan to give house site pattas to those living on porombok lands for the last 10 years.

It would conduct special camps at all firka headquarters on December 8 and 12 for the purpose, Collector Santhosh Babu has said.

Reviewing the 2-acre land scheme at at the Collectorate on Friday, Mr. Babu said that the district administration had constituted district level committees comprising tahsildar, Block Development Officer, panchayat president, ward councillor, Revenue Inspector and village administrative officer.

The team would ascertain whether the applicants were residing on porombok lands for more than 10 years or not.

The team would prepare a comprehensive list of eligible beneficiaries in every firka and forward the list to the District Collector for further action.

The Collector discussed with officials on the measures taken to distribute 2-acre land to landless beneficiaries. He reviewed the availability and type of land in each taluk and asked officials to prepare the beneficiary list immediately. The Collector instructed officials and tahsildars concerned on the norms to be followed while distributing land to landless farmers. Senior district officials were present.
