KUPPAM: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has on Thursday virtually showered over a dozen facilities on Kuppam constituency of Chittoor district. Though his visit was primarily meant for extending ‘Rajiv Arogya Sri’ facility to Chittoor, the district administration got several facilities inaugurated and stones laid by the Chief Minister. After unveiling a statue of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar near the Kuppam RTC complex, he inaugurated a 33/11 kV substation for Lakshmipuram and Bulk Milk Cooling Units (BMCU) in Gudupalle and Santhipuram, besides laying foundation stone for construction of additional buildings for Dr. Y. C. James Yen Rural Polytechnic, a Kasturiba Vidyalaya at Kuppam and Santhipuram. Animals distributedHe also distributed milch animals to beneficiaries under Pasu Kranthi Pathakam, pensions to the aged, widows and the handicapped and paid a visit to the Arogya Sri medical stalls. Dr. Reddy witnessed the signing of an MoU between IKP Mandal Samakhyas, National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and Vijaya (APDDB) and another pact between IKP and ALT of Bangalore for training women in garment making. Stone laidInaugurating the decennial celebrations of Dravidian University at its campus earlier, Dr.Reddy laid a stone for a 21st Century Gurukulam building, Indira Gandhi stadium and sports complex, a Centre for Endangered Dravidian Tribal Languages and Development and inaugurated Rajiv Gandhi Rural Resources Development Centre and ‘Harappa Bhavan’. He also launched a multi-linguistic common man’s web dictionary.
