KANNUR: Union Ministers Priyaranjan Dasmunsi and Jairam Ramesh will attend the inauguration of the ‘Shanthi Yatra’ being organised by the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) on December 10 from Payyannur to Thalassery as part of its campaign against the ‘reign of terror’ being unleashed by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M) in the district. KPCC general secretaries K. Sudhakaran, MLA, and M.K. Raghavan said at a press conference here on Friday that State level party leaders, including KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala and Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy would participate in the Shatnhi Yatra, which would be inaugurated at the Gandhi Maidan at Payyannur at 5 p.m. on December 10. They said that the march was being organised to mobilise public opinion against the CPI(M)’s intolerance against democratic rights of other political parties. The march would be received at various centres, including Taliparamba, Valapattanam, Kannur, Muzhappilangad, Meethalepeedika, and Thalassery. The march would conclude at Thalassery at 5 p.m. on December 13, they said.
