MSP issue: AIADMK plans protest

PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry unit of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) will organise a demonstration near the railway station on Saturday in support of the demand for Minimum Support Price for paddy.

Secretary of the Puducherry unit of the AIADMK A. Anbalagan told reporters here on Friday that the protest was to demand Rs.1,000 a quintal for paddy. Party functionary and former Tamil Nadu Minister D. Jayakumar would lead the demonstration.

The activists would stage the protest in Karaikal before the Collectorate on Wednesday, he said.

He also demanded a solatium of Rs. five lakh each to the kin of the two children who were killed in the crude device explosion recently.
