Bangalore: The National Commission for Backward Classes held a public hearing on inclusion of castes into the central list of Backward Classes here on Friday. Of the 16 caste categories listed for hearing, representatives from eight castes came for the hearing presided over by Justice S. Ratnavel Pandiyan, chairperson of the commission. Representations were made on alternative names by which caste categories are known. — Special Correspondent
