Compensation for farmers

Crop loss in the last monsoon

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has sanctioned Rs.14.62 crore to provide compensation to farmers who suffered crop losses during the last monsoon season.

Norms

Revenue Minister K.P. Rajendran said here on Friday that each district had been sanctioned different amounts according to Central government’s norms. The amounts would be disbursed at functions to the organised at the district level. The allocations for various districts were as follows: Wayanad - Rs.3.40 crore, Thrissur - Rs.2.36 crore, Kozhikode - Rs.2 crore, Malappuram - Rs.1.52 crore, Palakkad - Rs.1.33 crore, Alappuzha - Rs.1 crore, Kannur - Rs.84 lakh, Idukki - Rs.67 lakh, Ernakulam - Rs.42 lakh, Kollam - Rs. 33 lakh, Pathaanamthita - Rs.32 lakh, Kasaragod – Rs.20 lakh and Kottayam - Rs.15.5 lakh.
