dated December 8, 1957: India and Ceylon

The Ceylon Prime Minister, Mr. S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike, in a radio interview broadcast by All India Radio on December 6 said that his talks with Prime Minister Nehru on the problem of people of Indian origin in Ceylon had been “very profitable” and “very helpful”. When it was understood by the people of India and Ceylon that they had a number of bonds, cultural and otherwise, which had existed for many centuries, these bonds got stronger and the feeling of cordiality increased.
