Building for government employees inaugurated in Chitradurga

Chitradurga: N.Y. Hanumantappa, MP, has said that the success of government schemes largely depends on the way government officials function, since the schemes are implemented through them.

Speaking after inaugurating a building for government employees constructed under the MP’s Local Areas Development Scheme here on Friday, he urged the officials to ensure that deserving people benefited from the schemes.

He promised all help for the welfare of government employees in the district.

He said he would release more funds if the employees’ association wished to set up a housing colony, besides giving financial assistance for the community hall proposed in Chitradurga.

Expressing concern over corruption in government offices, he urged the officials to desist from seeking bribes.

“Don’t force the poor people to run from pillar to post to get their work done,” he said, and added that Chitradurga, being a backward district, had to ensure that the reputation did not stick for too long. In his address, G.H. Tippareddy, MLA, echoed similar views and said that the Government could claim success of a scheme if officials discharged their duties efficiently. He urged the employees’ association not to get involved in politics, and work hard instead. H. Anjaneya, MLA; zilla panchayat president Geeta Nandini Gowda; chief executive officer H.P. Prakash and district employees’ association president K.J. Jagadish were present.
