BANGALORE: The Confederation of Indian Industries, in partnership with the National Institute of Design, will exhibit Italian designs from La Triennale di Milano, the prestigious museum of design in Italy. Italy is the partner country for the CII-NID Design Summit 2007 to be held in the city on December 12 and 13. Addressing presspersons, Counsellor Nicolo Tassoni Estense, Head, Commercial and Economic Office, Embassy of Italy, said, “We are proud to partner with CII in this flagship event for design in India. Italy is recognised as the world leader in design, in all its various declinations, from fashion to industrial design, and from lifestyle to urban design. We are aware of India’s great creativity and its emerging talent in design and we are committed to explore all possible avenues of cooperation in this sector.” “By bringing to Bangalore, during the CII Summit, the exhibition 100 objects of Italian design from the permanent collection of La Triennale di Milano, we want to showcase 50 years of Italian excellence in this field,” Mr. Estense said. The event will be inaugurated on December 12 at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, following the opening of the summit.
