‘Desilt Sangilipallam stream’

TIRUPUR: Councillor R. Devaraj has asked the Tirupur Municipality to desilt the Sangilipallam stream, which passes through the southern parts of the city.

At the municipal council meeting on Tuesday he said that the stream had not been desilted for the last four decades causing inconvenience to residents on its banks during monsoon. He said bushes along the stream turned out to be shelters for anti-social elements.

He complained that the residents of Ward 46 were getting drinking water once in eight days in Tirupur. He charged the administration with laxity in constructing a toilet at P.K.R. Colony despite identification of land for the purpose.
