Two-wheelers seized and youth held

CHENNAI: Police recovered seven two-wheelers valued about Rs.4 lakh and arrested a 22-year-old youth in this connection in T.Nagar on Friday.
Police said that during a night patrolling, a youth, who was later identified as S. Ramesh belonging to Tuticorin district, was detained.
Subsequently, interrogations were conducted.
The enquiries revealed that the youth had indulged in lifting two-wheelers which were left unattended at public places for several hours together.
Ramesh confessed to having committed the crimes with the help of a two-wheeler mechanic Illavarasan (20) who runs a workshop at Chinmaya Nagar in Virugambakkam.
Based on his statement, the police recovered seven two-wheelers from different locations.
After registering a case, the police produced Ramesh before a city court, a press release said.
