CHENNAI: Neither the BJP nor Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi supports fake encounters, senior leader of the party M. Venkaiah Naidu said on Friday. “Whether they (encounters) are fake or real will have to be decided by courts,” Mr. Naidu told The Hindu. He wondered whether other Chief Ministers were held responsible for the encounters in their States. “Why this double standard,” he asked. Mr. Modi’s performance in implementing the 20-point programme or attracting foreign investment was rated highly, he added.
