State seeks RAF battalion in city
BANGALORE: The Central Reserve Police Force is examining the possibility of stationing a battalion of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) here.
At a meeting with CRPF Director-General S.I.S. Ahmed here on Thursday, Director-General Police K.R. Srinivasan placed a proposal to this effect.
Asked if the CRPF was considering deployment of a contingent in the State to counter the naxals, Mr. Ahmed stated that the situation did not warrant it and that the Karnataka police had been handling the issue appropriately.
