Sakrama protests continue

BANGALORE: Protests against the controversial Sakrama scheme continued in the city. Members of Save Bangalore Committee staged a demonstration in front of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) head office on Friday. Demanding that the scheme be withdrawn, B.R. Manjunath, convener of the committee, said the government should punish the corrupt officials who allowed the violations in the first place. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) in coordination with Bommanahalli Residents’ Welfare Association has organised a protest rally and public meeting to oppose Sakrama on Sunday. — Staff Reporter
