Sudhakaran blamed for not ensuring supply of ‘aravana’ Leadership camps to be held on December 15 THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Ramesh Chennithala on Friday accused the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government of abject failure in controlling the spiralling price of essential commodities. He was speaking after inaugurating a meeting of district-level United Democratic Front (UDF) leaders here. Mr. Chennithala urged the government to withdraw the power tariff hike. He alleged that the government and Devaswom Minister G. Sudhakaran were responsible for the failure to ensure adequate supply of ‘aravana’ to pilgrims at Sabarimala. “While LDF leaders are busy organising seminars against the nuclear deal with the U.S., they have failed miserably to ensure adequate facilities at Sabarimala. This has resulted in difficulties for lakhs of pilgrims and a huge loss for the Devaswom Board and the Government.” UDF district chairman K. Mohankumar presided over the function. P.P. Thankachan, UDF convener; Vithura Sasi, Indian National Trade Union Congress district president; C. Mohanachandran, KPCC executive member; Beemapally Rashid, UDF district convener; and other leaders spoke. The meeting decided to mobilise party workers for the Secretariat picketing on December 22. Mr. Mohankumar said leadership camps would be held in 17 constituencies in Thiruvananthapuram on December 15.
