Consumer Day celebrations held

NEW DELHI: Tula, the Miranda House Consumer Club, celebrated Consumer Day on Friday climaxing Consumer Awareness Week celebrations.
The week started with a workshop for students and saw several activities such as logo-making competition, extempore essay writing, inter-college quiz and essay competition.
Students also performed street plays on various consumer issues.
Principal Pratibha Jolly called for new ideas to safeguard consumers’ interests while Tula convenor Jayashree Pillai said well-organised sectors of manufacturers, traders and service providers often used manipulative skills to exploit the gullible customer and it was here that clubs like Tula could make a difference.
