Letters to the Editor
December 6 is a sad day in the history of India. The thoughtless action of a few, of demolishing the Babri Masjid in 1992, created a nationwide furore causing a great divide among the people. One wonders what those who razed the mosque to the ground expected to achieve. All that the demolition resulted in was tragedy jeopardising communal harmony. All concerned should introspect and take reconciliatory measures. Y.S. Kadakshamani,Madurai Those who disapprove of the Babri Masjid demolition should refrain from observing December 6 every year with protests. Protests will only lead to permanent enmity between communities. With respect to no other unfortunate incident is such a routine observed. People should let bygones be bygones. N. Nageswaran,Chennai
