Array includes educational CDs for children, Hollywood classics Music concerts in DVD format, Hindi film duet collection available Chennai: A treasure trove of CDs, DVDs and cassettes to suit various moods, tastes and occasions awaits visitors to Sankara Hall till New Year Day. Saraswathi Stores — AVM Sound Zone has exhibited a vast collection for sale. This year’s array includes music concerts in DVD format, Bharathanatyam performances on VCD and a range of educational CDs for children. Editor-in-Chief of The Hindu N. Ram inaugurated the exhibition on Friday. Sri Krishna Sweets Managing Director M. Murali and producer AVM Saravanan were present. A collection brought out by All India Radio from the Akashvani archives, featuring renowned artistes such as M.S. Subbulakshmi, T. Chowdiah and T.N. Rajarathnam Pillai, are available. Popular film music and movies from Moser Baer and Modern Cinema companies are very reasonably priced. So are collections of Hindi film duets by Mohammed Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar. A Charlie Chaplin series with Hindi sub-titles and Hollywood classics would make good buys. Children can choose from a large collection that includes science lessons, animated fairy tales, the Tom and Jerry series, car games, Panchatantra stories and Sanskrit bhajans. Lessons in drawing and Origami paper craft with a complete video demonstration are also available. The expo is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on all days till January 1.
