Jacob seeks measures to contain price rise

MALAPPURAM: Kerala Congress (Jacob) leader and former Minister for Water Resources T.M. Jacob has asked the government to initiate urgent measures to check the spiralling prices of consumables in the State.

Addressing the media here on Saturday, Mr. Jacob said that the State witnessed record high prices of commodities under the current government. He said the government’s response was poor despite the report of the Economics and Statistics Department that the State witnessed a 50 per cent price rise last year. Mr. Jacob demanded that the import of palmolein be banned.
