Chennithala alleges plot against CPI ministers

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Ramesh Chennithala has alleged that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has plotted a secret agenda against the ministers belonging to the Communist Party of India (CPI) in violation of the principles of coalition government.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Chennithala said that CPM ministers were working against CPI ministers. The Devaswom Minister was targeting CPI nominees on the Devaswom Board while protecting its chairman who was a CPM nominee.

Mr. Chennithala said that the State government had lost its collective responsibility. He said that the government failed completely in providing necessary infrastructure for the Sabarimala pilgrimage. He attributed the story state of things to a non-believer being at the helm of the Devaswom ministry.

Regarding price rise, Mr. Chennithala said that despite the daily rise in the price of rice, the State government was doing nothing to control it. The Civil Supplies Department was a mere spectator, while the monitoring committees led by district Collectors to check price rise were dormant, he said.
