“Quit”: Congress activists led by Leader of Opposition Jamuna Devi staging a dharna in Bhopal on Saturday during a State-wide agitation to demand resignation of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan over the alleged dumper scam.

BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh unit of the Congress organised protest rallies across the State on Saturday to focus public attention and demand Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s resignation on the dumper issue.

The party had originally planned to organise road blockades but chose to organise rallies in view of a new High Court order.

The leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly, Jamuna Devi, led a protest rally at Jawahar Bhawan in the busy New Market area here. Similar rallies were organised at the block and district levels by the Congress to raise the dumper issue.

The State Congress spokesman, Manak Agrawal, said memorandums were submitted to the district collectors and other authorities to seek the Chief Minister’s resignation on the dumper issue.
