Yamaha launches high-end bikes

BANGALORE: Yamaha’s new sports motorcycle models — Super Sports YZF – R1 and Torque Sports MT01 — was launched here on Friday.

Rohit Kurien, Business Head (South), Yamaha Motors, said Yamaha had received overwhelming response for its new bikes. Indian riders can now get a chance to experience the true ‘art of engineering’, he said. Mr. Kurien said Yamaha was the first two-wheeler company to introduce this genre of super sports and torque sports performance bikes in India. The introduction of these machines, illustrates the company’s aim of enriching Indian bikers’ riding experience and elevating the current biking, he said. Sanjay Tripathi, Business Head (Planning), Yamaha Motors, who also spoke on the occasion said both models are priced at over Rs. 10.5 lakh.
