HYDERABAD: As many as hundred South African students are all set to undergo training in various departments connected with construction at the National Academy of Construction (NAC) in Hyderabad. The training program, CII UYF NAC India Artisans Project jointly organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), National Academy of Construction (NAC) and a South African NGO, Umsobomyu Youth Fund (UYF) began at the academy on Friday. “Welcome to India, the land of Mahatma Gandhi”, said Second Secretary, South African High Commission, Bobby Moroe. Mr. Moroe was talking to the South African students who were selected for three-month training course in different trades of construction. “India has been identified by the South African Government as a source of rare skills. These trained students will carry these skills back to South Africa and help contribute to the progress of the country,” said Mr. Moroe. The students will be trained in electrical house wiring, plumbing and sanitation, work carpentry, painting and decoration and welding. The students are looking forward to the training period and their stay at Hyderabad.
