Samiti demands basic amenities

BIDAR: Members of Karnataka Tigers Horata Samiti on Saturday staged a rasta roko on the Bidar-Hyderabad road demanding fulfilment of basic amenities at Ladgeri Christain colony in the city.

In a memorandum addressed to Governor Rameshwar Thakur, they urged for supply of clean drinking water to the colony, streetlights and a drainage system.

In the absence of a drainage system, residents of the colony were living under constant fear of an outbreak of diseases.

The members said that the State Government and district administration were apprised of the situation but no steps were taken to address their problems.

They urged construction of concrete roads , supply of clean drinking water, steps to widen roads and facilitate smooth passage of vehicles.
