Accident triggers violence

Berhampur: Two persons were killed when a truck rammed against a motorcycle at Kansariguda village in Rayagada district of Orissa today, prompting mob violence alleging the police personnel present did not try to stop the erring driver.

The duo - Narendra Nayak and Debaraj Nayak - were passing by in the motorcycle when it came before the truck and the mishap occured, police said.

Superintendent of Police, Rayagada, Asis Kumar Singh and other seniors went to the spot. At least two platoons of police had been deployed in the village following tension. - PTI
