Manipal: Palaniappan, Regional Secretary of Lalit Kala Akademi, Regional Centre, Chennai, said on Saturday that the Akademi has always urged artists to mingle with experts in other fields such as music and philosophy at the art camps conducted by it. He was speaking at the valedictory of the art festival organised by the Lalit Kala Akademi, Artists’ Forum and the Manipal University, here. Mr. Palaniappan said that such interactions broadened the horizons of the artists. The Deputy Registrar of Manipal University, T. Ranga Pai, said that Manipal University was planning to encourage its students to take up at least one subject in Fine Arts. — Staff Correspondent
