Honoured: Governor N. D. Tiwari paying respects to dance exponent Nataraja Ramakrishna at the inaugural of Perini dance festival in Warangal on Saturday. WARANGAL: Governor N.D. Tiwari exhorted the youth to prepare themselves for the 21st century and challenges posed by the changing times. Inaugurating the three-day ‘Perini Andhra Natyam dance festival’ here on Saturday, Mr Tiwari was impressed by the turnout of students. The Governor, soon after arriving at the venue, walked towards the children and greeted them. Recalling his student days, Mr. Tiwari said there were no televisions, internet or cellular phones. But, the students today have better facilities and technology. V-Cs’ meetMr Tiwari said he will soon call for a meeting of all the Vice-Chancellors to know whether the students are offered courses in new and emerging subjects like nano technology. “I am in touch with the Education Ministers of the State and Centre. After the Vice-Chancellors’ conference, we will soon come out with a dynamic policy on education,” he said. Mr. Tiwari touched the feet of Padmasri Nataraja Ramakrishna for reviving the wonderful Perini dance. The Governor also gave away a cheque of Rs 50,000 to him and felicitated the dance guru. Earlier, Telugu University Vice-Chancellor A. Manjula welcomed the dignitaries. DIG K. Lakshman Moha, Collector K. Damayanthi, Superintendent of Police Soumya Mishra and others were present.
