Anchors play fast numbers from hit films A wide variety of items served in lunch
All smiles: Children having a dash at the kids carnival organised by Hotel Fortune Murali Park in Vijayawada on Sunday. — VIJAYAYAWADA: It was a sun-drenched morning and the boisterous crowd went ga ga over the turn of events of the day, which sprung up many a surprise for 800-odd children prancing and flouncing in ecstasy. The Kids’ Festival hosted by hotel Fortune Murali Park in association with M&M, unfolded a daylong masti and dhoom. The tastefully done lounge and the festooned staircase led to the grand ball room in the first floor, the destination of hordes of children who seemed in no mood to let go of the fleeting moments. The hall rocked as the vibrant crowd swayed to the high decibel music feasting on good food and lotza exciting gifts that packed the day with rare exuberance. Anchors Uday Shankar and Anu kept the children on high by initiating them into a fantasy world of fun and frolic. There was life all around as strangers connected to one another to be good friends and shook a leg in sync. Children, who descended on the venue in the morning in groups of twos and threes, transcended boundaries to melted into larger gatherings that stayed together till the end of the day. Trendy pairs of jeans, chic capris, graceful long skirts, funky T-shirts and minis ruled the hall that exuded high energy that never seemed to fade. The anchors sprayed the crowd with magical cheer that had the children bobbing in unison. Doing every trick to keep the children elevated, the anchors played fast numbers with peppy music from Telugu and Hindi hits. All-time favourites like Dhoom macha le…, kajrare..kajrare…crazy kiya re…and aakali este annam pedata sent the dancing crowd into raptures. Some T-shirts turned soggy even in the air-conditioned hall while some others thrust fists in the air and hooted approvingly. Uday Shankar’s magic show gave the children time to breathe easy and warm up for the next round of dance series. Drawing, painting, handwriting, solo dance and group dance were some of the events organised on the sidelines of the carnival. For lunch, the children had on their platter a wide variety of yummies like the freshly tossed crisp dosas with chutney, Chinese noodles, naan, aloo chaat, dahi-vada, veg-manchuria, fried rice, gulab jamun and ice-cream besides the regular menu of rice, dal, sambhar and curries. As the eventful day came to an end, the children felt sad and wanted to seize the magic moments by their flailing tail and hold on to them for a longer time. To bring their smiles back, the organisers handed them a bagful of goodies that uplifted their mood.
